Today was such a beautiful day! There were bright blue skies and the temperature was a perfect 80 degrees. Unfortunately birding was very slow. According to the birding experts that I talked with today, it is because there has been a northerly wind the past few days. Apparently, that makes a difference in whether or not the migrating birds stop by. Even though things were slow, I did spot some beautiful birds!
Normally I don’t post photos that I am not happy with, but I am making an exception with this one. This peregrine falcon was perched high in a tree with his back to me and I had to face into the sun to get a shot. The man who pointed out the falcon said that it likes that spot and can be seen there periodically. I came by later in the afternoon in hopes of getting a better shot, but he wasn’t there. Maybe tomorrow??
