It was a beautiful Saturday here in the midwest. The temperature was in the mid 70s, the sun was shining, and in the back of my mind was the fact that in three short days it is going to be November. Seventy degree days are going to be hard to come by for the next six months!
Today my destination was Thomson, Illinois. There are several places in this area along the Mississippi where I like to explore. I was disappointed at the lack of waterfowl, but then I discovered that it is duck hunting season. Not only were there very few birds, but some of the hiking areas were also closed.
Although I didn’t have much success finding birds, I enjoyed my outing. The fall colors were gorgeous, and the weather was perfect!
