The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me! Family visits, a wedding, hanging out with my grandchildren, and I have started back to work after being on summer vacation. Friday my friend Bill and I went for our last hiking trip before school starts. We checked out a couple of places along the Mississippi River in Iowa. The highlight of my day was spotting an arrowshaped micrathena (micrathena sagittata). I have a healthy fear of spiders (some might call it a phobia) but I have learned to appreciate their beauty!
