The first time I saw this bird I was so excited! I knew it was a type of pigeon, but they don’t make pigeons like this in Illinois! The problem was that we were in a museum area and there were no pictures allowed. So, I tracked down one of the guards to see if I could take a picture of the pigeons. She said yes, but then I couldn’t find the birds again. Later that evening I was able to get a few shots when I spotted some crested pigeons near our hotel. Little did I know that I would see lots of these throughout our trip! This photo was taken at Alice Springs, Australia.
