    • Thanks Bill! Yes, it is a kookaburra:) We went to a wildlife park today and they had one there. I saw my first Australian spider yesterday. I got a picture, but it didn’t turn out too good because I didn’t have my macro lens. It wasn’t worth posting.

  1. Wow! Spectacular beauty! Great shots! Yesterday when I read this post I couldn’t see all the pictures in the slide show, so I came back and enjoyed them all again 🙂

  2. Stephanie. Finally getting to see these photos. Made some changes to my security settings in Safari on my Mac, and now no Javascript seems to work. Since I’m late to the party, I’ll just say what a beautiful grab-bag of flappers you’ve managed to corral here. And the “captures” are (as usual) superb. Thanks for taking the time during your vacation to post them for us.

Incidentally, I know that water goes down the drain in the opposite direction down there. Have you noticed any other “weirdenesses” about the Southern Hemisphere you’d like to share? As a kid, I thought you’d have to feel upside-down in Australia if you were used to living up North. Funny how a thing like that will stick with you long after you realize how absurd it is.

Hope you’re having a terrific time, and I look forward to the next post, even if I can’t see it on my Mac.

    Later.

    • Isn’t it funny how our childish brains work Charles:) There have been a few thing to get used to down here. The driving on the left side of the road is really different. And that carries over to walking on the left side of sidewalks (which are footpaths down here). I am constantly going against the traffic. Ketchup is tomato paste; Sprite or 7up is lemonade;they eat baked beans on toast for breakfast; there are always grilled tomatoes and mushrooms on the breakfast buffets. They do not drink coffee, it is espresso or latte. If you do find coffee it is so strong that I have to add hot water. There are a lot of other things, but I won’t bore you with any more. Thank you for stopping by so regularly! I will be back in my regular routine soon😄
