I was really excited to see this American Redstart! I had never seen one before, and it wasn’t until I got home and checked my bird book that I knew exactly what it was. I spotted him on a short hike at Nahant Marsh. He was in the thick underbrush and was constantly flitting from one branch to another. The lighting was poor, and with his constant activity it made it really difficult to get a clear picture. I had only one opportunity when he was completely in the clear, and wouldn’t you know it, I missed it! Hopefully in the future I will have another opportunity to get a better photo!
