This afternoon I went for a short hike at Prairie Park, a small prairie/woodland area beside the Hennepin Canal. I was really surprised at how much the area had greened up in the past week. The trillium, dutchman’s breeches, and mayapples were all up. When I first entered the woods I notice a lot of activity high up in the trees. I had a hard time telling what it was, but I could tell that there was some yellow on the bird. I was really surprised when I check my pictures and saw that I had photographed a Yellow-rumped Warbler. I had never seen one of these, so I was excited to add it to my list of birds that I have photographed.
