I can travel to the Mississippi River in only about 30 minutes. There is always something to photograph along the river, especially near the locks and dams. Yesterday was bright and sunny and the temperature was in the mid 40s. It seemed almost balmy after the extremely cold February that we had. The bald eagles were out and about in great numbers; although you couldn’t get close to most of them. The American White Pelican was also were also active. But again, I couldn’t get very close to them. My photography friend, Bill, who was with me, had told me about Common Mergansers, but this was the first opportunity that I have had to photograph one. It was such a great day to be outside!
